Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And today we're taking a quick look at the Replacement Gas Strut. This is going to get you a new working gas strut so you can have the door or lid to a compartment, or maybe a cabinet somewhere on your boat or really anywhere, lift up so you're not having to lift that up on your own. Also helps to hold that up in place while you're loading any equipment or getting anything out of it. It does have 40 pounds of force so even if that lid or a door is a little bit heavier, it should be able to lift that up with no problem.

And it does extend out by 23 inches from socket to socket.So if we take a little closer look at it, it should just be a direct replacement for your original strut. Again, the openings here are going to be a 10 millimeter ball socket or that'll work with that. From the center of each socket the distance is 23 inches, so it should open up to that 23 inches. Whenever it's all the way collapsed down, it should be about 13 inches.This is just going to be a single strut so should help you to lift up that lid or door. It is also an annealed steel construction so corrosion resistant, great for any kind of marine application, shouldn't rust out on you and should be a nice stable gas strut.
